I'm a Senior Lecturer & Programme Leader in Digital Media at UEL. As a creative practitioner, I enjoy bridging the gap between research and creative practice. As a human, I enjoy bridging the gap between people of differing positionalities. I originated the term 'Black Woman saviour complex’ (click here to read more)
about me
Naida’s PhD interrogated the suitability of the term 'decolonisation' in screenwriting and storytelling, focusing on the colonial gaze in representations of Black Muslim women. This work underpins her broader academic and creative interests in the politics of representation, intersectionality, and narrative agency.
